Craft Idea to File: Flower Nut and Candy Cups

July 31st, 2008 · No Comments

Great for showers, tea parties, or dinner with your family. Easy to make for middle grade children and up (or younger children with parental help). Fill with flavored mints (showers), favorite candies, nuts, goldfish, or other small crackers or cookies.

Materials:
1 square napkin (any color, any size - but must be square)
nuts and candies

nutcup 001Directions:
1. Totally unfold square napkin.
2. Fold all four corner points into the center - see right pic. (May not be exact but get as close as possible.)
3. After all four points are folded in, continue folding the next four corner points into the center (same side of napkin.) See picture below.

5. It is important that these four points (on top) stay in place for the next step. So, you can either criss-cross some double sided tape under the points to hold in place, or hold down with one hand and proceed to the next step.
nutcup 0036. Carefully reach behind one of the points and gently draw up one of the corners. (See pic.) Repeat with the remaining three corners.
7. Using the same technique, gently pull up remaining petals from underneath, one at a time.
8. Shape to look like a flower and fill with candy, nuts, or whatever you would enjoy!
