1. Keep a small tray under your toaster. It collects crumbs that fall through, allowing for easier clean up.
2. To remove candle wax on your carpet, place a clean brown paper shopping bag (or paper towels) on the wax spot and run a hot iron over it. Place a new, unused part of the brown bag over the spot and iron again. Repeat until the wax is gone.
3. You can easily remove dents from ping-pong balls by boiling them in water for a few minutes.
4. You can make an attractive mat for hot dishes by simply covering a piece of cardboard or an old magazine with foil.
5. Attach a strip of reflective tape to flashlights so they can be found quickly at home, on a camping trip, or in the trunk of the car.
6. For the cleanest clothes, free of soap residue, add 1/2 - 1 cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle.
7. Run toothbrushes through the dishwasher once a week.
8. Want to make GIANT cupcakes? 1 cake mix = 6 giant cupcakes. Put 2 coffee filters into a canning jar lid (X 6) to keep their shape from the cake batter. Bake as directed.
9. Before you start a meal, fill your sink or dishpan with hot, soapy water. Then, as you use utensils, bowls, plates, etc. (including dishware used at the meal) just put them in the water. When it comes times to clean up, everything will be ready to go in the dishwasher or can easily be washed by hand. (Just be careful of sharp knifes or other sharp utensils.)
10.Ladies, do you worry about leaving your purse in the shopping cart at the grocery store while you shop? Take advantage of the child restraint. Fasten the handles of your purse over the pull-out top part of the cart and “thread” one side of the safety belt through the handles and latch with the other. At least someone can’t “grab and go”!
