Blog Spot: “Today’s Buzzwords”

worry “Stress” “Worry” “Chaos” and “Fear” … the buzzwords of the day. I don’t remember these in God’s dictionary, but I do remember:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice.  And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:6-9

I’m convinced that fear and out-of-control emotions rule 95% of the stock market. (And we thought women were the only ones that had PMS!!!) Have you ever witnessed the floor of the stock market? It’s crazy! Constant, unsettling (e)motion. It’s no wonder they’re exhausted and can’t think straight!

Of course, I’m stretching it a bit here, but all too often we act out of the same kind of flurry and uncertainty. What happened to “God is in control!” “God is sovereign!”? There is no doubt, many of us are affected smilingladyby the economic downfall in our country, but don’t forget, God is totally able to take care of us IF we put Him first, seek Him with all our hearts, AND do our part to live prudently and responsibly. Sometimes, we just need to slow down long enough to fall on our knees in prayer, be faithful to reading His word, investigate and “work” our resources, cooperate with others, and take action. Remember, “If there is a will, there is a way.”

And, never forget God’s words found in Romans 8:28-39 (please read the whole section) “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Stand fast. Stand firm. Trust God for He is faithful and He is true to His Word!

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’  So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’” Hebrews 13:5-6

“I AM GOD, and I approve this message!”
