#3 Around the World – Come Home

The womb is about as far back as one can go. Life begat life in the womb.

bible5There are several passages in God’s Word that indicates that He called people “from the womb” and revealed His plans for them. One of those passages is Isaiah 49:1-2 which bids us to “Listen, so as to pay attention”: “The LORD called Me from the womb; from the body of My mother He named Me. He has made My mouth like a sharp sword, in the shadow of His hand He has concealed Me; and He has also made Me a select arrow, He has hidden Me in His quiver.”

Do you like a mystery? Look at the text that says “concealed Me” and “hidden Me”. Don’t you hunger to know more? Who is this that has been “concealed” or “hidden” and why?

Let’s read further, He (the LORD) said to Me (pronoun capitalized because it refers to Deity), “You are My Servant, Israel, in Whom I will show My glory.” God chose Israel to be His servant, but Israel is not deity. Israel is a people, a nation, a land. So, we need to continue looking for the “Whom” that will reveal God’s glory.

Fast forward to an eye witness who wrote in the 1st century about the deity of one called Jesus (or “Yeshua” in Hebrew), the Christ, the One anointed for the purpose of revealing God’s glory.

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him  and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.  In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness,  and the darkness did not comprehend it… And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us,  and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  John 1:1-5 & 14

Concealed for a season, yet revealed in season for a reason. Why? Continue to walk with me as we ask the God of the universe to reveal His plan and His purpose for you.

Remember to …  “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem!” Psalm 122:6
