COFFEE CUP FRIENDS makes “no bones about it” – this is God’s ministry,
not ours, and we exalt Christ as the head. However, He has called each one of us into partnership  with Himself to accomplish His eternal purposes here on earth.

Matthew 28:19-20.
God gets the glory for everything we do!

cindaCINDA – CCF Co-founder “My heart’s desire is to share the love of Jesus to all women; affirming in them that they are uniquely created and valued by God. Through past experiences, I have seen both the stresses and joys of families and have had the opportunity to address many of their needs. It is my desire to see all women discover the rewards of simplicity, find joy in day-to-day living, hope and laughter in every day moments, explore their God-given gifts and inner creativity, and come to know a vibrant, growing, ‘forever’ relationship with Jesus.”  janetpic5I co-founded Coffee Cup Friends with my friend, Janet, in the Spring of 2005. Years later, Janet pursued other avenues of ministry but remained close to Coffee Cup Friends. A student of God’s Word, Janet encouraged others to be diligent in their studies and enjoyed speaking to groups of women whenever she got the chance. Sadly, Janet was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2014 and passed away into the loving arms of her Savior in September 2015. I lost one of my absolute best friends and I’ll never forget her laugh, her love for Jesus and the Word, and contagious way of making everyone she met feel like they were the most important person in the world, at least for that moment – and beyond. Love you Janet! She was 54.

contributorsThe following amazing women have been blessed with the gift of writing. They draw on their life experiences and the passions God has placed in their hearts. They’re a real blessing to Coffee Cup Friends and, we hope, a blessing to you!

Ann2ANN is a pastor’s wife, speaker, and the founder of Press On Ministries, a ministry of encouragement to women. In 1983, she married a widower with 6 children. They have 5 additional children together; one of whom beholds the face of Jesus. They also have 14 grandchildren. Ann and her family are at home in the mountains of western New Mexico. She enjoys reading, listening to music, and playing games with her children. Ann teaches preschool Sunday school at her church and enjoys teaching a weekday women’s Bible study. One of her most favorite verses is Philippians 3:12-14.

Barb3BARB is a believer in the power of the written word to influence and bless the lives of women. She has published articles on various topics, and a Bible study book on 12 character qualities titled, “Inner Virtue, Outer Expression.” She is an editor for a small Christian publishing company and speaks at women’s teas, workshops, and retreats. Barb has taught various Bible studies and a community ed. class on writing for publication. Her passion is passing on Biblical insight to bring women into a deeper relationship with Jesus. She enjoys reading, writing, studying, traveling and writing letters. Barb was married to her childhood sweetheart, Dave, for over 50 years and has three daughters and nineteen grandchildren.

elsieyoungELSIE contributes to our Growing Older With Grace and Beauty section of Coffee Cup Friends and more. She celebrates life every day of her 100+ years and is a true testament of God’s love to those who know her. Elsie lives in a life-care retirement community and has led many Bible studies, and writes a newsletter for many of the residents who live there called “Elsie’s Kneehole Desk”. She loves to paint, but her real passion is to study God’s Word and write stories that draw the reader into the lives of Bible characters and the events of the day. She enjoys writing prose and many articles on various subjects, as is reflected in her website: The Kneehole Desk of Elsie Young One of Elsie’s life-changing verses is Isaiah 26:3. (Elsie celebrated 103 years in September 2015! She has slowed down quite a bit, but continues to tell others of the love and goodness of Jesus.)

jenniferJENNIFER is Executive director of The Praying Life Foundation and a respected author and speaker. She is the author of numerous books, studies, and magazine articles specializing in prayer and spiritual formation. Her book Heart’s Cry has been named National Day of Prayer’s signature book and you will find articles and daily quotes from Jennifer at the National Day of Prayer web site. Her book, Live a Praying Life, has been called a flagship work on prayer. Jennifer speaks all over the country calling God’s people to discover the difference between “a prayer life” and “a praying life”. Jennifer was widowed in 2005 after 26 years of marriage to Wayne Dean, her partner both in life and ministry. They are the parents of three grown sons and she makes her home in Marion, Kentucky.

KD2012KIMBERLY DAWN has been serving the Lord at Psalm 99:5 Radio for over 22 years, and behind the microphone as host of a two-hour on air radio segment of worship and encouragement called “the Vertical Connection” since 2004. She and her husband, Jerry, live in the International Falls, Minnesota area and have three grown children and seven grandsons! Her love for Jesus keeps her inspired to serve Him and to pass that love and enthusiasm on to others. Various trials in her life have been used by the Lord to draw her closer to Him and increase her faith to believe that God is Who He says He is and that He works ALL things together for our good and His glory! KD refers to herself as a “daughter of the Most High God.” She loves to worship the Lord for all that He is while praising Him for all that He has done and continues to do! Kirsten is a gifted writer and has already seen her first two books (Christian fiction) published by Moody Press, The Fall and Guarded. Kirsten enjoys writing both fiction and poetry. As the daughter of a pastor she developed a passion for sharing the hope of the Bible with others. She served in various campus ministries at the University of Colorado where she earned degrees in English and Communications. He’s the only hope, the only light for this dark world.”

She has taught Bible studies for about 15 years in churches, homes, and to inmates in prison. She has also done retreats and one-time speaking engagements. Mary’s focus is to give believers a passion for God and His purposes, to impart a love for the Word of God, for Israel, the church, and the nations, that one day we would all hear “Well done good & faithful servant”.

Peg 2013PEG and her late husband, Butch, lived in the same, small border town in Minnesota nearly all their lives. They have two grown children and two grandsons. She was an announcer for Christian radio for twenty years and privileged to interview nearly one thousand guests on her weekly show, Focal Point. Peg enjoys leisure time with friends, music, speaking, teaching, visiting shut-ins, studying the Bible, researching the Jewish roots of her Christian faith and is an avid historical scrapbooker. She was the Prayer Director at her local church and participates in a Christian Women’s Club, Women’s Ministries, small group Bible study for both men and women, and helps serve in the kitchen. A highlight of her life: she visited Israel and Petra in 1996 and it forever changed the way she views Scripture. Her favorite book in the Bible is Jeremiah which serves as a template for where America is today. Peg writes for our Israel in Focus.

prayerteamOur Prayer Center closed its doors late in 2014, but we still want to recognize these incredible women who stormed the gates of Heaven on behalf of Coffee Cup Friends and your prayer requests for so many years. They counted it a privilege to pray for your needs. We counted them as among our greatest blessings!
