HOT/COLD BEVERAGE RECIPES

3-FRUIT PUNCH
Makes 1 gallon (32 servings)
1 (6 oz.) can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 (10 oz.) package frozen strawberries, thawed
3 quarts ginger ale, chilled
crushed ice
Put lemonade concentrate, pineapple, and strawberries in blender. Cover and run blender on high speed until completely smooth. Combine with gingerale in punch bowl over crushed ice.
CHAI TEA LATTE
2 Tbsp. vanilla flavor powdered coffee creamer
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. unsweetened instant tea
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
Combine ingredients and put in a covered glass jar or other container. To make tea, empty the bag of mix into a microwave-safe coffee cup. Add 1 1/2 cups water. Stir well.
Microwave 2 minutes. Stir again. 1 serving.
CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER SMOOTHIE
12 oz. Chocolate Silk Soymilk
1 Tbsp. peanut butter
1 banana
3-4 Tbsp. malt powder
2-3 scoops vanilla ice cream
Combine all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth.
CINNAMON VANILLA CAPPUCCINO
1/3 cup dry powdered milk
2/3 cup + 1 Tbsp. Splenda sweetener
2/3 cup powdered creamer
1/3 cup instant DECAF coffee
Combine ingredients and put in a covered glass jar or other container. To make coffee, shake jar/container to thoroughly mix ingredients. Place 1 1/2 – 2 Tbsp. mix into a microwave-safe coffee cup. Add 1 cup boiling water. Stir well.
FRUIT SLUSH
1 (12 oz.) can orange juice
Juice of 3 lemons or 1/4 cup Real Lemon
1 1/2 cup sugar (may partly use Splenda)
3 cups water
1 regular-size can crushed pineapple with juice
3 bananas, diced
1/2 jar maraschino cherries
Mix all ingredients together and freeze. Remove from freezer at least 1 hour before serving. Serve in small sherbet glasses.
GALA GRAPE PUNCH
6 oz. frozen lemonade
12 oz. frozen grape juice
6 cups cold water
12 grape ice cubes (made from 1 package Kool-Aid)
1 lemon (sliced)
Mix lemonade, grape juice, and water in punch bowl. stir until melted. Add ice cubes. Stir. Add 7-up and sliced lemon. Pour into Dixie cups and freeze. Slightly thaw when ready to eat. Grab a spoon and enjoy as a slushy.
ICED CAFE MOCHA
Add 1/2-cup half-and-half or light cream and 1/4 cup chocolate-flavored syrup to cooled coffee. Sweeten to taste. Serve over ice. Makes four 7-ounce servings.
ICED CAPPUCCINO
Add 1 teaspoon vanilla to cooled coffee. Sweeten to taste. Pour over ice in glasses. Pour about 3 tablespoons half-and-half or light cream into each glass. Makes four 6-ounce servings.
LEMON-STRAWBERRY PUNCH
Makes about 32 servings or 1 1/2 gallons.
3 (6 oz.) cans frozen lemonade concentrate (diluted according to directions on can)
Add and mix: 1 package frozen strawberries, thawed
Just before serving, add: 1 quart Ginger Ale or 7-up and ice.
LEMONADE FROSTIES
Makes 2 (1 cup) servings
1 cup COUNTRY TIME Lemonade Flavor (Sugar Free Low Calorie Drink Mix – prepared)
1 cup frozen vanilla yogurt (softened)
1/2 cup ice cubes
PLACE all ingredients in blender container; cover. Blend on high speed 30 seconds or until thickened and smooth. Serve immediately.
MOCHA AU LAIT
Mix together:
1 1/2 c. nonfat dry milk
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 cup instant coffee crystals
2/3 c. mini chocolate chips
Put all in a jar or covered container. To serve, first stir or shake up mix to blend ingredients. Then, put 1/4-cup mix into your favorite coffee cup and add 2/3 cup boiling water.
MOCK FROSTY
1 cup milk
1/2 cup Nestle’s Chocolate drink mix powder
3 cups vanilla ice cream or vanilla frozen yogurt (softened)
Put in blender and enjoy!
ORANGE CREAM DELIGHT
1 scoop orange sorbet
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
orange soda
Place sorbet and vanilla ice cream in a soda-fountain glass. Slowly pour in orange soda, then top with additional scoop of orange sorbet. Serve with a tall spoon and straw.
PINK REFRESHMENT
2 c. (1 pt.) cranberry juice cocktail (preferably, no added sugar) and chilled
2 c. (1 pt.) vanilla ice cream, softened
4 c. (1 qt.) 7-up or Sprite, chilled
Place cranberry juice and softened ice cream in blender; cover. Blend at medium speed until smooth. Fill glasses 1/2 full. Add chilled 7-up or Sprite to fill glass. Serve immediately. 8 (1 c.) servings.
NOTE: This is very good, too, with a scoop of your favorite sherbet
instead of the vanilla ice cream (with or without the 7-up).
POWER DRINK FOR TEENS
1cup yogurt
1 medium banana
1cup favorite berries
1/2 cup milk
2 Tbsp. honey
5 ice cubes
Put in blender and blend well.
“SLIM-FOR-YOU SHAKE”
Serves 2 (Low in calories and fat)
1-cup vanilla-flavored ice milk
1 envelope sugar-free hot cocoa mix
3/4-cup skim milk
Combine all ingredients in a blender container and process until smooth and creamy, about 15-20 seconds. Pour into two glasses and, if desired, top with a dollop of whipped topping.
STRAWBERRY JELLO PUNCH
Serves 12-15
1 large package (6 oz. size) strawberry Jello (dissolve with 2 cups hot water)
1 – 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups cold water
1 (46 oz.) can pineapple juice
1 package frozen strawberries
Mix above and freeze. To serve, add 2 quarts 7-up.
STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE
3/4 c. milk
2 scoops vanilla or strawberry ice cream
4-5 Strawberries
Blend.
YOGURT FRUIT SHAKE
Makes 8 (1/2 cup) servings.
2 cups milk
1 medium banana (cut in chunks)
1 (8 oz.) container plain yogurt OR 1/2 pint vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup strawberry preserves
Place ingredients into a blender. Blend on HIGH speed until foamy. Serve cold.
