The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayer-less studies, prayer-less work, prayer-less religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 Jesus said:”It is written … My house will be called a house of prayer.” Matthew 21:13
Some people have a job in the church. Others get involved in a ministry. What’s the difference? Ponder the following…
If you’re doing it because no one else will, it’s a job. If you’re doing it to serve the Lord, it’s a ministry.
If you do it only so long as it doesn’t interfere with other activities, it’s a job. If you’re committed to staying with it even when it means letting go of other things, it’s a ministry.
If you quit because no one praised you or thanked you, it was a job. If you stay with it even though no one seems to notice, it’s a ministry.
If you do it because someone else said it needs to be done, it’s a job. If you do it because you are convinced it needs to be done, it’s a ministry.
It’s hard to get excited about a job. It’s almost impossible not to be excited about a ministry.
If your concern is “success”, it’s a job. If your concern is glorifying God and faithfulness to what He has called you to, it’s a ministry.
People may say, “Well done” when you do your job. The Lord will say “Well done” when you complete your ministry.
An average church is filled with people doing jobs. A great church is filled with people who are involved in ministry. If God calls you to a ministry, don’t treat it like a job. If you have a job in the church, give it up and find a ministry. God doesn’t want us feeling stuck with a job, but excited and faithful to Him in a ministry!
